My graphic design knowledge proved to be a helpful asset during my fellowship. From time to time, an idea would spark in my mind for a specific graphic to help grab people's attention on a certain message.

This first image of an SPJ themed deck of cards was used in a special edition of our newsletter, SPJ Leads, that was completely devoted to promoting the 2010 SPJ National Convention. The title for that edition was "The Winning Hand." With it, I personally designed this image of three playing cards that include the convention logo and hotel in the background. Each card put together spells the letters S-P-J.

This image was a concept I worked on with our graphic designer for a special holiday message. The content itself was well written but I felt that adding a personalized graphic like this would bring in the touch I was looking for.
